The Moment of Truth

As an avid waterfowler, I have the opportunity to get very close to waterfowl if I play my cards right when out in the field or marsh. This past fall, I was able to put down the shotgun and bring up the viewfinder up to my eye. Just like with a gun, there is a moment between the shot and the sound of the camera. And there is nothing that moves in that moment. Not the bird. Not the shutter. And in that moment you see every feather. Hear every heartbeat. Feel every breath. And it's in that moment that you realize, the only thing in the universe that's been moved, Is you.
